Resolved USB/hardware codesigning error after moving computers

I have a code signing script that works on an old windows 10 computer.  the new windows 11 computer i was getting:

Done Adding Additional Store SignTool Error: An unexpected internal error has occurred. Error information: "Error: SignerSign() failed." (-1073741275/0xc0000225)

It did retrieve the correct cert, everything looked good/correct, so it apparently was able to get it off the usb token.

the error is useless - this section 0xc0000225  basically means something didn't work.  no errors in the event log.

I did use pcmover which did a great job on most everything.

 

but - the problem was that you need to install (or reinstall) safenet even though safenet itself ran fine.   safenet install possibly sets up registry and other settings.
